Before consulting, I founded and ran the technology side of a robotics company. It is where I learned what it takes to turn a working prototype into a product that customers pay for and depend on.
Cloud robotics and drone charging stations#
Problem · Fully autonomous robots need remote fleet management, predictive maintenance and teleoperation, and the ability to charge on their own for extended, unattended operation.
What I did · As founder and CTO, oversaw the creation, development and launch of charging stations and protective hangars for commercial drones, with the management and connectivity services around them. Planned the work, hired and coached the engineering team, and owned the product from hardware to cloud.
Result · Contracts with dozens of international clients, including US government agencies, a space agency, a drone manufacturer and leading universities.
